ENGINEERING
Overview

Engineers know the importance of laying a good foundation. At Dordt College, we do too. That is why the primary mission of our engineering department is to train Christian engineers to design products that bring restoration and development to the world.
The Christian engineer is concerned with the impact a particular design has on communities and the environment. That's why our engineering department pushes students beyond mastering technical skills.
Whether preparing for a job in industry or further study in a graduate school, Dordt's program prepares students for a life of professional service to the Lord and to the community.
Dordt College students have had great success in obtaining positions in industry or graduate school when they graduate. They find they are well-prepared for a wide variety of career opportunities that require creative problem-solving abilities.
Many of our graduates have gone on to graduate school in such areas as electrical, mechanical, civil, agricultural, chemical, biomedical, industrial, materials, computer, or aerospace engineering.
Among the universities they have attended are Iowa State, Columbia, Cornell, Purdue, Washington, Arizona, Duke, Illinois, Colorado State, and Ottawa. A few have gone on to law school, business school, or seminary.
