Visit Dordt

Why Visit Campus?

It's hard to describe. There's just something about being on campus that we love. The energy of walking to class and seeing friendly faces. The feel of singing praise songs at chapel. We encourage all prospective students to visit campus if they can. It's simply the best way to discover if Dordt is the school for you.

Individual Appointments

"During my campus visit at Dordt, I felt a sense of community and acceptance that I never felt on any other visit. I genuinely felt like I belonged."

— Devyn, student

Individual Visits

Like flying solo? We offer individual visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on campus, starting at either 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. Each visit will include a tour of campus, a visit with a professor from your desired major (if available), and a meeting with an admissions counselor.

The length of your visit will vary depending on how many appointments you request. Chapel is also included during a Wednesday visit. If you have specific time restrictions please let us know before you arrive on campus. We look forward to showing you around!

Travel Reimbursement

If students do a full campus visit—which includes a tour, visits with professors, and meeting with Admissions—we will be happy to help with some updated reimbursements. A student is reimbursed only one time.

Flight Reimbursement

If a prospective student flies to visit campus and does not need Dordt to provide transportation, we will reimburse $350. Sometimes this will be more than the student’s airfare; the extra will go toward a parent ticket if they come along. We will offer a $250 reimbursement to a student if Dordt needs to provide transportation from the airport. These checks are generally sent to the student’s attention about two to three weeks after their visit.

Note: We will offer transportation to and from the Sioux City and Sioux Falls airports. We do not offer transportation from the Omaha airport.

Driving (Miles) Reimbursement

When students drive to campus, they will be reimbursed 5 cents per mile—round trip, per student visiting—if they travel 200 miles or more one way—up to a maximum of $200.

Dordt will not be paying additional reimbursement for hotels or rental cars.
