Week of Welcome 2025 begins Friday, August 22
WOW, is an event designed to immerse new students into campus culture and community, while also acclimating them to what college might be like before classes start.
Week of Welcome starts this weekend! We can't wait to welcome you to campus.
Josiah Vos, a Dordt University sophomore working on a dual major in mathematics and music: pedagogy and performance, will give a piano recital on Saturday, September 6, at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The community is invited to the free event with a public reception to follow.
The recital will feature a selection of classical pieces, including "Piano Sonata No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53" by Beethoven, Pijper’s "Piano Sonata," and other works by J.S. Bach, Chopin, Fauré and Debussy. Vos describes the Beethoven sonata, written during the composer’s middle period, as one of his most significant pieces.
In addition to his studies, the Sioux City, Iowa native serves as the accompanist for Dordt University’s Concert Choir. Vos also placed second in the 2024 Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair. He currently studies piano under James March.
