A newly released Dordt University Athletics app makes it possible for Defender fans to stay connected with the athletic program with the official mobile app of the Dordt Defenders.

The app, powered by SIDEARM Sports, features real-time news alerts, schedules, multimedia content, gameday details and more. The new Dordt Defenders app is free and compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

Through the app, Defender fans will enjoy a personalized mobile experience with the ability to access gameday information and receive breaking news and score notifications for the Defender teams they follow.

"We've attempted to make following the Defenders as accessible as possible. The launch of godordt.com earlier in 2022 has allowed us to provide much of the information available on our website to also be personalized for the mobile user," said Mike Byker, Dordt University director of athletic communication. "Combining the Dordt Media Network video productions of all home events, our partnership with Sioux County Radio for play-by-play coverage, the launch of godordt.com and the Dordt Defender app, we have provided several channels to make Dordt University athletics as accessible as ever."

The app is designed with a user-friendly interface that integrates with godordt.com to bring the latest digital content right to your fingertips. Additionally, it includes links to video and audio streams of live games, in-game stats, and team social media feeds.

"The Dordt University Athletic Communication team appreciates working with an administration that values the connections these endeavors foster and are grateful for our partnership with SIDEARM Sports," said Byker.

To download the app to your smartphone or tablet, visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search for "Dordt Defenders." To learn more about Dordt athletics, visit godordt.com.
