Dordt to host World Cup championship watch party

On Sunday, December 18, Dordt University will host a FIFA 2022 World Cup championship match watch party in the Campus Center that is open not only to the Dordt student body but to the local community as well.

Prior to the watch party, there will be a worship service held in English and Spanish at 8 a.m. in the Campus Center. The match watch party will then begin at 9 a.m. Free pastries will be provided to attendees, and there will be fun activities and giveaways at halftime.

Eric Tudor, director of emerging markets at Dordt, says that Dordt increasingly wants to become a hub for the broader community.

“We want to be a place where people come to meet their neighbors and grow in faith together,” he says.

Also, the current Dordt students, staff, and faculty represent 21 of the 32 nations competing in the World Cup.

“We’ve hosted watch parties throughout pool play, highlighting a majority of these nations by hanging their flag in the Grille and setting up a screen for students and their friends to watch their home country compete,” says Tudor.
