Theology at dordt

Be challenged. Be changed.

Do you feel called to pursue full-time ministry or Christian studies? Dordt’s theology degree will help you develop the background knowledge you’ll need to dive further into your studies.

You will have the opportunity to pursue emphases in biblical studies, missions and ministry, theological studies, and youth ministry. Each one builds on the foundations of biblical foundations, Christian confessions, and Reformed theology. Students also have the option to minor in theological studies.

We are committed to training up God’s people for kingdom work, and believe a degree in theology from Dordt will help you take that next step.

Program Options

emphases

Biblical Studies: As a Biblical Studies emphasis, you will have opportunities to dive into the Old and New Testament, and learn the fundamentals of biblical languages.

Mission & Ministry: Dive into classes that prepare you to present biblical content to diverse audiences, study the contemporary issues that the church faces, and lead others in discipleship, character formation, communication, and more.

Theological Studies: In this emphasis, you will study ancient and medieval theology as well as modern and contemporary theology, learning to think critically about issues that shape Christian life and thought.

Youth Ministry: As a Youth Ministry emphasis, you will learn about discipleship, conflict resolution, small groups, and more. Learn to think critically about the cultural dynamics affecting both ministry and the church. You will also have the opportunity to learn about human service, such as group counseling skills, or lifespan development, looking at the growth of an individual from conception through adulthood.
