Leadership Team

Dordt University currently has a leadership team of eight who report to the president and oversee the administrative and academic functions of the institution.

Rev. Aaron Baart

Chief of Staff

As Chief of Staff, Rev. Baart coordinates strategic efforts among the senior leadership team, is Dordt’s legal liaison, and leads the Crisis Management Team. Prior to this role, he served as Dean of Chapel where he provided oversight for the Campus Ministries staff. He is an alumnus of Dordt.

Dr. Leah Zuidema

Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. Leah Zuidema serves as the Vice President for Academic Affairs, leading the university in the central learning tasks of the institution and serving as the chief academic officer. The VPAA provides guidance, encouragement, and accountability to faculty and academic staff of the university in order to equip students, alumni, and the broader community to work effectively for Christ-centered renewal in all areas of life. Dr. Zuidema is responsible for Dordt University’s traditional, online, and graduate academic programs.

Stephanie Baccam

Vice President for Finance and Risk Management

Stephanie Baccam is an alumna of Dordt University and leads our Business Office in stewarding our resources and making forward-thinking financial decisions. Baccam also leads university investments and financial aid processes and provides oversight of Computer Services and Human Resources.

Dr. Darin Keizer

Athletic Director

An alumnus of Dordt, as Athletic Director, Keizer provides overall leadership for all intercollegiate athletic programs, ensuring that they align with Dordt’s mission. Keizer also serves as the president of the Defender Gold Club, Dordt’s athletic support base of donors and supporters.

Dr. Brandon Huisman

Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing

Passionate about advancing Christian higher education, Dr. Brandon Huisman leads initiatives in development, marketing, alumni relations, and institutional strategy. Huisman is committed to fostering kingdom-minded collaboration and innovation, equipping teams to engage with Christ-centered purpose until all is made new. Earning his undergraduate degree at Dordt, he went on to earn an MBA from Regent University as well as an Ed.D. in Higher Education from Bethel University.

Robert Taylor

Vice President for Student Success and Dean of Students

Robert Taylor is an alumnus of Dordt and has spent over 20 years serving on our Student Services team. As Vice President for Student Success and Dean of Students, Taylor walks alongside Student Services, Campus Health and Counseling Services, the Academic Enrichment Center, and Career Development Center. He also oversees student success, Dordt Dining, and works with Title IX on campus.

Fred Verwoerd

Vice President for University Operations

An alumnus, Fred joined Dordt’s senior administration team in 2023. He is responsible for the day-to-day physical operations of the campus. This includes Facilities and Grounds, Auxiliary Services, Student Employment, and oversight of new capital projects.

Greg Van Dyke

Vice President of Enrollment

A Dordt alumnus and a recipient of the 2023 Annual Service Award for Outstanding Achievement from the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals (NACCAP), Greg Van Dyke has worked in Dordt’s admissions office for more than 20 years to help recruit countless students to Dordt. During his time as Director of Admissions, Van Dyke was one of many who helped Dordt experience four straight years of record enrollment.
