As part of the annual Defender Days festivities, Late Night with the Defenders returns on Friday, October 17.

Beginning at 10 p.m., the community is invited to the DeWitt Gymnasium for an exciting line-up of Defender Gameday experiences with special performances and presentations. The doors will open at 9:30 p.m. with warm-ups beginning at 9:40 p.m.

Late Night with the Defenders includes the following:

  • Free t-shirts
  • Scrimmages and introductions of Dordt women’s and men’s basketball teams
  • Performances by the cheer and dance team
  • The unveiling and presentation of the national championship banner

Ultimately, the athletic department hopes the event ignites excitement and connection throughout Defender Nation for the basketball season and beyond. “Late Night with the Defenders creates a unique space for alumni, students, and community members to come together and engage with Defender athletics in a fun and personal way that will spark momentum for athletic events and campus life throughout the year,” says Trent Roose, associate athletic director of facilities and operations at Dordt.

“We’re thrilled to bring this event back,” says Dr. Darin Keizer, director of athletics at Dordt. “It’s a great opportunity to come together with a common purpose, recognizing our accomplishments from last year and kicking off the season with energy and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see everyone there and to enjoy this memorable experience together.”
