“UNDER THE MASS & VELOCITY OF LIFE,” a senior art exhibit featuring the work of art major Siena Rose, is on display in the Zylstra Nursing Education Center through early May. A reception for the show will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m.

THE MASS & VELOCITY OF LIFE is “a captivating, raw, immediate, and abrupt foray into installation art,” says Associate Professor of Art & Design David Platter. Rose, of Jakarta, Indonesia, is bold and ambitious with her artistic expression, and the installation “compels each of us who encounter it to reflect on our own experiences, which can often remain internalized or repressed.”

Rose says that “every part of life, every part of ourselves is worth the trouble to be known and understood.” The installation fearlessly embraces the vulnerability of the human experience. Rose finds comfort in the midst because Christ claims it and declares all of this to be his.
