CoSIDA Honors For Three Defender Women

(Thursday, May 26; Sioux Center, Iowa) The 2021-22 Academic All-District Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, have been announced and the Dordt Defenders have three athletes listed on the District 3 team. Jessica Kampman (Junior; Abbotsford, British Columbia), Mika Kooistra (Senior; Emo, Ontario) and Anmarie Stuit (Senior; Hospers, Iowa) have all been voted to the team and will now be on the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot.  

Kampman is a psychology major and has a 3.86 grade point average. She was the 2021 GPAC Cross Country champion and claimed NAIA Cross Country All-American honors for both the 2020 and 2021 seasons. She’s a five-time all-GPAC track and field performer and claimed NAIA Track and Field All-American status once.  

Kooistra is a biology major with a 3.90 grade point average. Kooistra  has won two NAIA Track and Field National Championships and is a seven-time NAIA Track and Field All-American. She’s been a part of seven GPAC Track and Field Championship performances and has been a 12-time GPAC all-conference performer in both indoor and outdoor track and field.  

Stuit has a 3.83 grade point average and is studying education. She’s an eight-time NAIA Track and Field All-American and twice won NAIA National Championships. Stuit has been a part of seven GPAC track and field titles and 11 times claimed all-conference standards.   

CoSIDA Academic All-District nominees must be at least a sophomore and maintain a 3.3 grade point average. CoSIDA is the national organization for college sports information professionals.
