Dordt will host Northwestern in GPAC doubleheader play on Tuesday, April 26 starting at 5:00.

The Red Raiders are 31-9 this season and 10-6 in league play with six conference games remaining. Northwestern has won five of its last six games and is 9-3 since April 2.  The losses have come in doubleheader splits with Concordia, Doane and Morningside.

Northwestern is batting .346 this season and has outscored teams 262-111 through 40 games while limiting opponents to a .223 batting average.

Bri Giordano is batting .460 this season with five homeruns and 43 runs batted in and Jennifer Boeve is batting .420 with 58 hits and 41 runs scored. Gwen Mikkelsen and Jordyn Kramer are at .377 and .347 respectively  and Mikkelsen has 43 hits with 35 runs scored.

Kameryn Etherington and Kate Kralik are both 15-4 with Etherington sporting a 2.02 earned run average and she has 106 strikeouts in 121 innings pitched. Kralik has 130 strikeouts with 123 innings pitched and the two have walked 39 and 32 batters respectively.


The Defenders are 20-15-1 and 10-8 in the league. The Defenders are looking for a win after dropping four straight to Morningside and the College of Saint Mary. Dordt has lost those games by a combined seven runs.

Dordt is batting .242 while opponents are batting .239.  Dordt has outscored teams 133-111.

Karli Olsen is batting .321 with 34 hits, 22 runs scored and four homeruns with 18 runs batted in and Jessica Oules is batting .319 with 20 runs scored. Chandler Schemper bats .317 and has 21 runs batted in with 33 hits and Emma Groen has four homeruns.

Abby Kraemer is 15-7 in 25 pitching appearances and she has two saves with 140 innings of work and she has struck out 180 batters with 28 walks.  Teams are batting .182 against her.

Hailey Wilkin is 2-3 with a 2.84 earned run average and 56 innings of work and Taylor Knaack is 3-3 in 38 innings.


Northwestern lost a 13-2 decision to Morningside on April 23 and took a 4-3 decision in the second game of the doubleheader. Kate Kralik won the pitcher’s duel in the second game and struck out nine while allowing five hits.

Dordt lost a pair of tight games to the College of Saint Mary on Saturday by scores of 4-2 and 3-1.


Dordt and Northwestern split their games last season on April 6. The Raiders won game one 4-2 and Dordt claimed a 2-0 win in game two.
