Softball Hosts the College of Saint Mary Saturday

Dordt will host the College of Saint Mary on Saturday, April 23 starting at 2:00. Those graduating from the program this spring will be recognized as well.

THE COLLEGE OF SAINT MARY
The Flames are 11-21 this season and 7-7 in the GPAC. Most recently the Flames were swept by Midland on April 18 and swept Hastings on April 13.
Emma Hofmaier is batting .372 with 32 hits, a homerun and 13 runs batted in while Rylee Scholl is batting .347 with 25 hits and 17 runs batted in. Izzy Monzon has 30 hits and Macy Homes has 29 hits with a team high eight homeruns and 19 runs batted in.

The Dordt Defenders are 20-13-1 this season and 10-6 in the GPAC. Dordt is 2-4 in its last six games and is 1-1 in extra innings in that stretch. Dordt’s four losses are by a combined five runs in the stretch against Mount Marty, Jamestown and Morningside.
Dordt is batting .242 as a team and has posted a 2.42 earned run average. Jessica Oules is batting .330 with 20 runs scored and she has 29 hits. Karli Olsen is batting .323 with 22 runs and 32 hits with four homeruns and four doubles and the sophomore catcher has 17 runs batted in. Chandler Schemper’s batting average is .320 and she has 31 hits with four doubles and 21 runs batted in. Jessica Flaherty and Kenzie Cunard are at .273 and .265 and Kunard has 16 runs batted in.
Abby Kraemer is 15-6 this season with a 1.36 earned run average in 133 innings pitched and she has 173 strikeouts and 25 bases on balls and she has accounted for two saves. Hailey Wilkin is 2-2 with a 2.76 earned run average and she has 16 strikeouts while Taylor Knaack is 3-3 with nine strikeouts in 37 innings.
RECENTLY
Dordt lost 3-1 and 2-1 to Morningside on Thursday night in Sioux Center with the 2-1 decision coming in nine innings.
The Flames were last in action on April 18 when they lost to Midland 7-1 and 9-0.
SERIES
The Defenders won both gamest last season on April 24 by scores of 10-2 and 11-6 in Omaha, Nebraska.
NEXT
Dordt is scheduled to host Northwestern on Tuesday, April 26 and will conclude the GPAC regular season against Dakota Wesleyan late next week.
