Men's Volleyball Adds Murdoch

(Thursday, April 7, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Alejandro Murdoch, a senior at Pella Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.

“Alejandro will be a wonderful addition to our men’s volleyball program.  He will provide depth for us as a utility player in many different backrow positions.  We are grateful for the work and time that these coaches have put into his development: Cindy Nikkel and Alvaro Ferreira.  Alejandro seeks to serve the Lord in all that he does.  We will be blessed to have him join our program and campus community this August as he will live out The Defender Way,” said Dordt men’s volleyball coach Chad Hanson.

Murdoch is a 6-0 outside hitter and won a national championship with his high school team as a freshman.

“Ever since I visited Dordt for the first time I was amazed by all the programs in the academic, athletics and arts. I could see the excitement on each professors’ face from having us in their classes and I admired their way of teaching their subjects on a Christian basis. The coaches at Dordt didn’t only care about the way I played but they also cared about me and my life and the things I have been through,” said Murdoch.

Alejandro is the son of Mauricio and Maria Laura Murdoch. He plans to enter the pre-med program at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition.
