Groos To Join Defender Soccer

(Wednesday, March 16, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Gavin Groos, a senior at Roosevelt High School (South Dakota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
Groos is a 5-10 midfielder and forward who scored nine goals and had eight assists during his last two seasons of high school. He was a second-team all-state selection as a senior and was on a state title winning team in 2019.
“I committed to Dordt University because it is nearby and I have friends playing soccer there,” said Groos.
Gavin is the son of Brent and Heather Groos of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He plans to study business at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
