(Wednesday, March 16, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Adam Hjemvick, a senior at Westside (Nebraska), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
“I chose to commit to Dordt because I know it will prepare me for live beyond college. Its exercise science program has excellent grad school placement rates and the professors genuinely care about the students. I also chose to commit because the financial aid department and soccer coaches made Dordt a financial possibility for me. I’m looking forward to representing Dordt on the soccer team this fall,” said Hjemvick.
Hjemvick is a 6-0 goalkeeper and he played for the Nebraska FC as well. Hjemvick was voted best goalkeeper in the U-19 Nebraska State Cup in 2021 and 2022. He was selected to play int eh 2019 Gatorade Cup All-Star UEFA Champions League Fan Fest and was part of the 2019 El Salvador Gatorade Cup Championship team along with the 2020 Nebraska State Cup Championship and the 2021 Nebraska President’s Cup Championship.
“Adam exemplifies all aspects of the Defender Way. Faith was at the forefront of our recruitment process with his past experiences and future aspirations. He has a lot of potential to grow as a person and as a player in his time at Dordt. We are excited to add Adam to our 2022 class!” said Dordt soccer coach Ryan Gresse.
Adam is the son of Jacob and Rebekah Hjemvick of Omaha, Nebraska. He plans to study exercise science at Dordt.
