THE MATCH

The Dordt Defenders will travel to Ottawa, Kansas to face the Ottawa Braves on Thursday, March 3 at 7:00.  The match is a Great Plains Athletic Conference contest as the teams work towards the conclusion of the season.

OTTAWA

Ottawa is 8-6 this season and 4-2 in conference play and they have gone 4-0 at home.

Ashan Jordan leads the team with a 3.72 kills per set average and a .283 kill efficiency and he has six ace serves. Brennan Hagar is at 2.45 kills per set with nine ace serves and Cade Berg leads the team with 19 aces and he puts down 1.4 kills per set. Kyle Cox is putting up 8.96 assists per set and Berg leads the team with 1.06 blocks per outing.

DORDT

Dordt is 7-4 this season with a 6-1 conference mark.  Dordt’s lone loss in conference play is to Jamestown.

Caleb Kulesza is averaging a team high 3.9  kills per set with a .377 kill efficiency while getting to 1.9 digs and he has a team high 18 service aces. Brady Frost and Luke Nelson are averaging 2.2 and 2.2 kills and Nelson has a .357 kill efficiency. Andres Guzman is averaging 2.0 kills and has 11 service aces with 1.7 digs per set. Lukas Van Groningen and Boris Le have split the setting responsibilities with 8.2 and 7.5 assists per set respectively.

RECENTLY

Ottawa beat Central Christian on February 28 by a 25-5, 25-17, 25-12 margin behind seven kills by Jordan and 17 assists from Berg.

Dordt swept Morningside on Wednesday night, March 2 by scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-21 with Kulesza recording 15 kills and Van Groningen had 27 assists.

THE SERIES

Dordt swept Ottawa on February 12 by scores of 25-20, 26-24 and 25-18. Kulesza had 14 kills and Guzman and Nelson each had nine with Van Groningen putting up 39 assists. Hagar put down 12 for the Braves and Jordan had nine.
