Evans Added To Defender Soccer

(Thursday, January 13, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Eliza Evans, a student Buena Vista University and a graduate of Clear Creek Amana (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.

“I chose to commit to Dordt because of the Christ-centered environment and the way it felt like home. I am so excited to learn, meet new people and play soccer in such a beautiful environment,” said Evans.

Evans scored four goals for Buena Vista last season and is an outside midfielder and forward.  She was a  first-team academic all-state honoree from both the IAHSSCA and IGCA academic all-state honoree and earned second-team all-state honors.

Evans is the daughter of Melissa and Walker Evans of North Liberty, Iowa and she is undecided on her intended field of study.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
