Stevens To Join Defender Hockey

(Monday, July 19; Sioux Center, Iowa) Hayden Stevens, a graduate of Waukee High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender hockey program.

“Hayden is a young man who will help bring stability to the goaltender position for us,” said Dordt hockey coach Tyler Morgan. “More importantly Hayden is ready to challenge to himself to grow both on and off the ice. He is exactly the type of player and person and we are looking for and we are lucky to add him to our program.”

Stevens is a 6-4 goalie and played for the Des Moines Oak Leafs.  He has a 1.19 goals allowed average with a save percentage of 93 and was a part of a state championship.

“The Dordt campus is very nice and everyone is very welcoming,” said Stevens.

Hayden is the son of Jessica and Dustin Stevens. He plans to enter the Pre-Med program at Dordt.
