(Friday, June 11; Sioux Center, Iowa) The 2020-21 Academic All-District Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, has been announced and Brenna Krommendyk (Sophomore; Belle Plaine, Minnesota) has been named to the NAIA District 3 team. The honor recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Krommendyk was a first-team NAIA All-American selection this season after taking all-GPAC first-team honors. She’s a social work major and maintains a 3.97 grade point average. Krommendyk averaged 2.47 kills per set with a .389 kill efficiency and led the Defenders in blocks per set with 1.37. She was named the Defender of the Year at the NAIA National Championship and was named the Defensive Player of the Year by the NAIA as well.
“Brenna demonstrated a great commitment to her studies this year and also had a tremendous volleyball experience in our extended season. This honor is well deserved and represents her commitment to live out The Defender Way as she seeks to honor the Lord in all that she does,” said Dordt volleyball coach Chad Hanson.
Dordt concluded the 2020 season at the NAIA National Championship in April and advanced to the semifinal round of the event for the third time in five seasons.
