Track And Field At Orange City Friday

Northwestern will host a two-day event on Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10 in Orange City. Friday competition includes decathlon and heptathlon events starting at 1:00 and the 5,000 meter runs will start at 5:30 with the 4x800 and 10,000 meters competed for on Friday night too.
Saturday action gets underway at 9:00.

The Dordt Defender track and field team hosted a meet on Thursday, April 1. The men’s side was highlighted by Matthrew Van Eps winning the 800 meters and taking second in the 400 while Payton Mauldin and Cole Zevenbergen competed in the 800 too and placed second and fourth on a windy night. Grant Brouwer cleared 6-6.75 in the high jump and the 4x400 claimed first to cap the night.
The women’s competition saw Alexandra Beckman claim first in the 200 meters and Mika Kooistra, Annika Rick and Bethany Ten Haken were second, third and sixth. Cori De Jong and Cassie Brandsma cleared 5-0.75 with De Jong claiming first on misses. Jaelyn Dragt was first in the triple jump with a 34-8.5 performance.
After significantly limiting entries for the NAIA National Indoor Meet it appears the outdoor qualifications will revert to the previous qualifying practice with set standards in place.

Dordt will send competitors to the Sioux City Relays on Friday, April 16. All of the competition will be held on Friday with the high school athletes competing on Saturday.
