Men's Cross Country Holds Seventh In Voting

(Wednesday, March 31; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The NAIA has announced its most recent 2020 Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Poll and the Dordt Defenders are no. 7 in the initial ranking.

Dordt totaled 438 points in the voting done by 19 coaches representing each of the NAIA conferences.

Huntington (Indiana) is in the top spot with 519 points and 13 first place votes. Saint Mary (Kansas) holds the second spot with 547 points and Dordt is 28 points behind Oklahoma City who occupies the sixth spot in the poll.

“We are excited to have the women’s and men’s teams both represented in the top-10 of the rankings heading into the final week of the season.  We look forward to the opportunity to finish our season at the national meet next Friday and are thankful for the opportunity to compete in a championship race this year,” said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.

Other GPAC teams in the poll include Northwestern (17) and Doane (24).

This is the final in-season poll before the NAIA National Championship race will be run Friday, April 9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
