Geers To Join Defender Soccer

(Monday, January 11; Sioux Center, Iowa) Sara Geers, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Michigan), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.

“We are excited to add Sara to the women’s soccer program. She has a fantastic personality that will fit in really well with the team, and she has a constant desire to get better on the soccer field. I’m excited to get her on campus in August,” said Dordt women’s soccer coach Alex Durbin.

Geers is a 5-6 outside defender and midfielder. She was a part of a conference and district champion team and has also played for the Revolution which is part of the Michigan Sports Academy.

“I believe the Lord led me to Dordt which became clear during my campus visit. Dordt’s special education program is excellent and the community is very strong. I am excited to be able to play soccer, the game I love, and build meaningful relationships with my team members,” said Geers.

Sara is the daughter of Bart and Mary Jane Geers of Hudsonville, Michigan. She plans to study Special Education at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition.
