THE FOE…

Doane is 2-4 this season and has been outscored 15-11 while getting outshot on goal 50-36.  Markus Pieper has three goals scored this year and Shayne Miller and Nicolas Arce Zambrana have played 285 and 270 minutes in goal respectively. Miller has allowed 1.33 goals per game with 22 saves and Zambrana has allowed 3.48 goals per game with 12 saves.

Doane has two one-goal losses to Briar Cliff and Midland and has beaten Presentation 5-1 and Dakota Wesleyan 3-1.

THE DEFENDERS…

Dordt is 3-9 overall and 2-7 in the league after a 2-1 loss to Northwestern on Wednesday night.  Blake Hansen leads the Defenders with six goals and Quintin Olson  has three while Luke Foster has two goals scored. Brandon Hansen has played 1006 minutes in goal and has been charged with 25 goals for a 2.23 goals allowed average and he has 81 saves and ranks 9th in the NAIA in saves per game with 7.6 and 1st in total saves.

RECENTLY…

Dordt lost 2-1 to Northwestern Wednesday with Quintin Olson getting a goal in the 86th minute.  Dordt had a corner kick late in the game but didn’t convert. The Defenders were outshot on goal 11-2.

Midland was a 2-1 winner over Doane on October 21. The game wasn’t decided until the first minute of overtime when Midland got the game winner in. Midland tied the game with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game to force the overtime and then scored 27 seconds into the extra session. Markus Pieper had a goal in the 47th minute to stake the Tigers to a 1-0 lead.

THE SERIES…

Doane leads the series 14-6-1 after beating the Defenders on September 21, 2019 by a 2-0 score. Doane had a 9-3 shots on goal advantage and got two goals from Josh Bundy.
