THE FOE…

Doane is 0-7-2 this season and 0-5-2 in the league with ties against Midland and Presentation. The Tigers have had trouble scoring goals this season and have surrendered 29 while scoring two.  Opponents have a 104-35 shots on goal advantage.  Doane has split the goalkeeping between three players with Danielle Dobovy at 200 minutes in goal with five allowed and a 2.25 average while Hannah Drolshagen has 290 minutes in goal with seven goals allowed and a 2.17 average.

THE DEFENDERS…

Dordt is 6-5-1 this season and 5-4-1 in GPAC play after a 1-0 double overtime win over Northwestern on Wednesday, October 21.   

Dordt has outscored teams this season 20-18 and outshot them on goal 105-88. Alaina Van Zalen has six goals and two assists to lead the Dordt offense and Maddie Regnerus and Katherine Kooiman have three.  Emma Visser and Claire Jansen both have two goals scored.  Elianna Van Hulzen has played seven games in goal and 623 minutes and has allowed six goals with 38 saves and a 0.87 goals per game allowed average. DeLynne Zevenbergen has played 294 minutes and has six goals allowed with 21 saves.

RECENTLY…

Katherine Kooiman found the goal in the 108th minute to break up a scoreless tie with Northwestern on Wednesday and gave Dordt its sixth win of the season.   Dordt had an 11-7 shots on goal advantage and Elianna Van Hulzen made seven saves to preserve the shutout.

Doane managed a tie with Midland on Wednesday, October 21 despite getting outshot on goal 18-4 and overall 38-5.  Dubovy had 18 saves in goal to salvage the tie.

THE SERIES…

Dordt squeezed out a 2-1 overtime win over Doane last season on September 21. Alaina Van Zalen opened the scoring in the 47th minute and Mikaela Patterson got the game winner less than a minute into overtime. DeLynne Zevenbergen had four saves and Dordt outshot the Tigers 13-5 on goal. Dordt leads the series 17-8.

WHAT’S AHEAD…

Dordt concludes the regular season on Saturday, October 31 against Hastings at home in a 12:00 start.
