Feikema Added To Defender Softball

(Friday, January 10; Sioux Center, Iowa) Erika Feikema, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender softball program.
"We are excited to welcome Erica into the Defender Softball program! Erica is very familiar with Dordt University and we look forward to seeing her growth as a student athlete during her time here at Dordt. Erica will fit right into our program and add value immediately," said Dordt softball coach Jeff Zomer.
Feikema has played centerfield for the Knights and batted .333 as a sophomore and .250 as a junior when she had three doubles, a homerun and 10 runs batted in. During her sophomore season she had a pair of doubles and knocked in seven runs.
"I chose Dordt because I want to continue to grow in my faith and Dordt has a strong Christian atmosphere to help me along with that," said Feikema.
Erica is the daughter of Corlin and Sharon Feikema of Sioux Center, Iowa. Erika is undecided on a field of study.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian university rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
