Women's Basketball Holds No. 5 In Poll

(Wednesday, November 27; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender women’s basketball team is no. 5 in the most recent NAIA Division II Coaches’ Poll released on Wednesday, November 27.

The Defenders held steady at the same spot they held in the pre-season poll voted on in October.  Dordt is 9-1 with a loss to no. 8 Morningside and has won back to back games since that setback.

The Defenders are currently 3-1 in GPAC play and is one of seven GPAC teams either in the poll or in the ‘Receiving Votes’ category of the ranking. Concordia (1), Hastings (6), Morningside (8), Northwestern (11), Dakota Wesleyan and Jamestown (RV) are the other GPAC teams in the polling.

Dordt resumes play on Monday, December 2 when it hosts Dakota State.  The Defenders pick up GPAC play on Wednesday, December 4 at Jamestown.

The Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.

The next poll will be released on December 11.
