Klassen To Join Defenders

(Thursday, April 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Daniel Klassen, a senior at Melrose Area High School (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

Klassen is a 6-6 post player who had 106 points and 142 rebounds during his senior season with 39 blocked shots.  He helped Melrose Area to a 2017-18 conference title.

"We look forward to having Daniel be a part of the program.   He is a quality young man that will fit in very well at Dordt College.  We look forward to his development as a player," said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften.

Daniel is the son of Paul and Becky Klassen of Melrose, Minnesota. He plans to study Engineering at Dordt.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
