Nelson To Play Volleyball For Defenders

(Tuesday, March 19; Sioux Center, Iowa) Luke Nelson, a senior at Wayzata High School (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.
Nelson is listed as a 6-5 middle blocker and played for Minnesota Select. He was named to the USAV-NCR All-Tournament team.
“Luke is a phenomenal athlete with an immediate impact ability for our court in the middle. He was highly recruited by top programs and we are honored that he sees his future with ours. We are grateful for the work that his club coach Gintas Garsys has put into his development. Luke will do wonderful things in our Christian community as he seeks to love the Lord and serve others," said Dordt volleyball coach Chad Hanson.
Luke is the son of Julie and Jamie Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He plans to study Education at Dordt.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
