(Thursday, October 4; Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt College is no. 8 in the most recent NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Poll released on Tuesday, October 2.
The Defenders totaled 459 points in the voting done by 21 coaches representing the various conferences across the country. Dordt was no. 10 in the previous poll released September 18 and is 15-2 after a win over Hastings and Doane last weekend.
“We are honored to once again move ahead in the national poll. We believe we are playing solid volleyball with great room for growth still in front of us. This has been an exciting season for us and we are enjoying each day together,” said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.
The Defenders have started the GPAC season with an 8-0 record and resumes GPAC play on Friday at Morningside.
The GPAC has four teams ranked in the top-14. Midland is no. 9; Northwestern is no. 12 and Hastings is no. 14. Jamestown is in the receiving votes category of the poll.
The next poll will be released October 16 and each subsequent poll will be publicized on an every other week basis.
