Music department hosts guest organist for a recital.

Sioux Center, IA: On Saturday, February 3, at 7 pm, the music department at Dordt College will host guest artist Gary Cobb for an organ recital.
Cobb teaches music theory and history at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. He received his bachelor, masters, and doctoral degrees in music from Texas Tech University. He has served as president of the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic in Los Angeles, and he is the regional vice-president for the College Music Society. Besides serving as a church organist for 40 years, he has also performed organ recitals in cathedrals all over the world: from Jerusalem to Florence to Prague. He is currently doing research in the music of the Holocaust, and directs undergraduate student research projects.
He will perform an evening recital at the B.J. Haan auditorium at Dordt College, with pieces including Bach’s Fugues and Voluntaries by Francis Linley and Charles Burney.
The event is free and open to the public.
