Geels To Join Defender Soccer

(Monday, January 8; Sioux Center, Iowa) Carissa Geels, a senior at Calvin Christian (Michigan) High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender women's soccer program.
Carissa is listed at 5'8" and plays center back for the Squires. She was part of a conference championship team and went 6-2 in the 2017 season. During her soccer career she has earned all-conference and all-district honors.
Carissa is the daughter of Shonna and Jeff Geels of Wyoming, Michigan. She is planning to study Art Education at Dordt College.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
