Dordt Track Adds Velgersdyk

(Friday, January 24; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Miranda Velgersdyk, a senior at Sioux Falls Christian High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender track and field program.

Velgersdyk has personal bests of :58.5 in the 400 meters; :26.2 in the 200 meters and :12.7 in the 100 meters.  She placed third in the 400 meters at the 2013 South Dakota State Meet and sixth in the 200 meters. She was a part of two relays, the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 which claimed state titles and set Class A State Meet records in the process. 

Miranda is the daughter of Loren and Kathy Velgersdyk of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  She plans to study Accounting at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
