February 23, 2004

Tickets are now on sale for the light-hearted drama, “The Dining Room,” to be performed at Dordt College’s New World Theatre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 4, 5 and 6, at 8:30 p.m. The Dining Room

This A.R. Gurney play is a comedy/drama in which six performers present an array of scenes in the vanishing family center -- the dining room. Each actor plays 9-11 different characters, portraying different views and quirks of tradition, family, and relationships. While entertaining, the episodic play also challenges the audience to critique our culture and society.

Rachel Persenaire is the student director, and performers are Matt Bakker, Jon Horlings, Marcus Roskamp, Katrina Kobes, Kansas Calkhoven, and Anna Kooi. Ethan Koerner is the scenic designer and Amy Blok is the stage manager.

Tickets are $2 and may be reserved by calling the box office at 722-6430. Box Office hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday - Friday and 7- 9 p.m. Monday – Thursday.
