Van Otterloo Picks Dordt College

(Monday, May 19; Sioux Center, Iowa)   Colton Van Otterloo,  a senior at Western Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender baseball program.

Van Otterloo, a middle infielder and pitcher, earned second-team honors both in the district and in the Lakes Conference.  Van Otterloo batted .312 last season with an on base percentage of .448. He had seven doubles; knocked in 14 runs and was issued 18 bases on balls.  Van Otterloo was a regular on back to back district champions in 2012 and 2013.

Colton is the son of Craig and Sue Van Otterloo.  He plans to study agriculture at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
