Van Ginkel To Run At Dordt College

(Monday, January 13; Sioux Center, Iowa) Alex Van Ginkel, a senior at Trinity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender track and cross country programs.
Van Ginkel qualified for the state cross country meet four times for the Tigers and posted a fifth place finish at the 2013 Class 1A State Meet in Fort Dodge with a time of 16:47. His personal best is a 16:15 run at Cherokee this season. He was a two-time champion at the state qualifying meet and was a runner-up once. Van Ginkel ran at the state track and field meet and placed ninth in the 1,600 meters as a sophomore with a time of 4:39.
Alex is the son of Joel and Natalie Van Ginkel. He plans to study Accounting at Dordt College.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
