Dordt College advancement earns bronze writing award

February 27, 2012

The Dordt College advancement office has received a bronze award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District Six. The college’s annual Leadership Giving Report earned bronze in the category of Excellence in Fundraising Materials: Excellence in Development Writing.

Many colleges produce annual giving reports, but Dordt College’s advancement office wanted to produce a piece that would be more than a list of donors, and that would delve into some of the stories of why people give to the college.

“We’re always really encouraged to hear affirmations of our work, and that what we do here at Dordt is bearing fruit in the lives of alumni. We thought that our supporters would enjoy hearing these stories as well,” said Sonya Jongsma Knauss, director of marketing and public relations at Dordt College.

Some testimonials in the report touched on how supporters see their investment in Dordt as an investment in God’s kingdom, and that giving generously from the bounty of God’s provision is a great joy.

CASE is a professional association that supports alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and allied areas in educational institutions. District Six includes schools in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
