High School Band Festival April 15

Over 400 high school and Dordt College students will perform in the High School Band Festival at Dordt College on Friday, April 15. The concert begins in the B.J. Haan Auditorium at 7 p.m. with performances by individual bands.

The evening will conclude in the DeWitt Gymnasium where the bands will combine for a mass band performance under the direction of Bradley Miedema of Dordt College. This will include works by Daehn, de Haan, Denny, and Hartley.

The seven high school bands participating in the festival include Unity Christian (Orange City, Iowa), Trinity Christian (Hull, Iowa), Pella Christian (Pella, Iowa), Sioux Falls Christian (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Dakota Christian (Platte, S.D.), Southwest Minnesota Christian (Edgerton, Minn.), and Covenant Christian (Grand Rapids, Mich.). The high school students will spend the day on campus in rehearsals and attending master classes led by the world-renowned Boston Brass, who will be on campus for the festival and will also be performing for the students and leading master classes throughout the day.

The concert is free and open to the public.
