Ron Paul speaking engagement at Dordt College moved to April 11
February 25, 2011
Ron Paul will visit Dordt College Monday, April 11, as part of a Presidential Lecture Series hosted by The Family Leader. He will be speaking at 10 a.m. in Dordt’s Campus Center in an event that is free and open to the public.
Paul, a Texas congressman, ran for president in 2008. He recently won the presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference for the second straight year.
“Iowans play a vital role in hosting the first in the nation presidential caucus,” said Bob Vander Plaats, president and CEO of The Family Leader. The group’s lecture series gives Northwest Iowans a chance to meet and evaluate the candidates in person.”
Dordt College is one of three Iowa venues for the series. Candidates will be making stops later in the day at Pella Christian High School and the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
The Presidential Lecture Series includes a visit from former Senator Rick Santorum on May 2. Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and businessman and radio host Herman Cain have also committed to participate in coming months.
Dordt College is pleased to provide a venue for the series and has a history of hosting candidates for public office as a way to promote civic awareness and political engagement by Christians. The forums give Dordt students and the surrounding community an opportunity to participate in the events, meet the candidates, and learn more about the political process.
