Jessica Duncan presents vocal recital March 5

Jessica Duncan presents a vocal recital in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Saturday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. Duncan is a Dordt College senior from Hartley, Iowa, and is majoring in theology.

The recital will include Italian, English, and German opera arias as well as a duet of “Con te Partiro” (translated as “Time to Say Goodbye”) with vocalist Nathan Groenendyk. Other performers include piano accompanist Nancy Vermeer, violinist Tiffany Schuller, and cellist Jason Kornelis.

Duncan is excited to perform and says, “My favorite pieces are probably my Italian opera aria pieces because they do not hold to the rules of choral music. The singer can add their own flavor through musical expression.”

A reception will immediately follow the recital. Both events are free and open to the public.
