National Lutheran Choir presents concert Feb. 26

February 24, 2011

Dordt College will host the National Lutheran Choir from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn., on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m., in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The concert, part of the choir’s 25th Anniversary season series, is titled “We Sing with Joy.”

The choir will perform works by Josquin des Prez, Johann Sebastian Bach, F. Melius Christiansen, Leland Sateren, Kenneth Jennings, Rene Clausen, and more. A selection of hymns will be sung by all.

Under the direction of David Cherwien, the 64-member choir performs concerts during worship services and workshops, is heard on public radio, and tours annually. The theme for this year’s tour, “We Sing with Joy,” was chosen “because we are not alone,” said Cherwien. “And we invite [our audience] to join us for this performance.”

Admission is free and open to the public. The doors open 45 minutes prior to the performance.
