Internationally renowned pianist to give free performance at Dordt College

Pianist Ksenia Nosikova will perform at Dordt College on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

Nosikova is a graduate of Moscow Conservatory, earned a doctoral degree at the University of Colorado, and is a professor of piano at the University of Iowa. She has performed extensively across the U.S., Europe, Asia, Russia, and South America, and recorded several critically acclaimed CDs.

The program for Nosikova’s appearance includes “Notturno in F Major, Op. 6 #2” by Clara Wieck Schumann; “Sonata in F minor, Op. 14” by Robert Schumann; and four compositions by Franz Liszt.

Nosikova has performed in many prestigious international and national professional concert venues, including Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall in New York City, City Hall Theatre in Hong Kong, Palacio da Artes in Brazil, Chetham’s International Piano Series in England, as well as in more than 70 American universities through the guest artist series.

Reviews have praised her performances as being “brilliant, full of grace and the most astonishing precision.…” (Dernieres Nouvilles D’Alsace), and “musically very poetic ...full of light, warmth, and joy…” (Madison Music Review).

The concert is sponsored by the Dordt College Music Department, and there is no cost to attend.
