A group from Argentina specializing in tango music and dance will perform at Dordt College’s B.J. Haan Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. This free performance is sponsored by the Dordt College Music and Foreign Language Departments.

The Tami Tango Trio features Eduardo Tami, Claudia Marciano, and Tony Saganias on stage, with instruments including the flute, guitar, and keyboard. The performers will introduce the audience to the musical world of Tango, its roots in African music, and elements of Spanish culture, while demonstrating tango dancing techniques.

In addition to the concert, members of the group will make guest presentations to classes in musical literature, instrumental music, theater performance, Spanish, and Latin American history. A fun informal introduction to dancing the tango will also be presented to Dordt students at the Humble Bean campus coffeeshop.

The public is welcome to attend the free concert.
