Travelogue and soup supper Sept. 26

September 18, 2008

KDCR Radio will host the travelogue, “Sea to Sea in a Model T” on Friday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Dordt College’s B.J. Haan Auditorium.
This travelogue program by Don and Fran Van Polen features scenes taken while traveling from coast to coast in a 1926 Model T Roadster, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Henry Ford’s automobile.

The journey takes them from the Puget Sound in Washington to the eastern-most town and lighthouse in America. Along the way they describe the landscape and tell the story of the car that put America on wheels and began the mass production of automobiles all over the world. This well-researched production contains interesting stories and beautiful scenery digitally projected onto a 20-foot screen.

This travelogue is not included in the KDCR travelogue season admission program. Tickets for the travelogue will be sold at the door: they are $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for students. For more information contact KDCR at (712)722-0885.

Preceding the travelogue, KDCR will host a soup supper at Dordt’s Recreation Center from 5-7 p.m. Chili, chicken, and vegetable beef soup will be served, along with taverns, creamed chicken sandwiches, and ice cream. The cost is $7 for adults, $4.50 for ages 10 and under, and free for preschoolers. The supper is being held in observance of KDCR’s 40th anniversary of broadcasting.
