Dordt Master of Education program in session

July 7, 2008

Grad Ed.

Summer school for teachers has begun at Dordt College, with 42 people currently taking courses to work toward their Master of Education degrees.

Most of Dordt’s M.Ed. students are actively engaged in teaching, while using summer break to pursue an advanced degree. Dordt’s graduate-level program enables participants to earn a master’s degree in as few as three summers. Most courses consist of advance preparation (e.g., reading assignments) followed by one week on campus during the month of July to complete courses.

Some courses are also offered online during the summer months.

The Dordt College Master of Education degree is a 10 course, 30 semester-hour program with a concentration in curriculum and instruction, approved by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Iowa Department of Education. Classes offered also meet continuing education requirements for professional development.
