Ag Day at Dordt College is April 25
April 18, 2008
The Dordt College Agriculture Department and Agriculture Club are hosting Ag Day on Friday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main parking lot on the north side of the Campus Center.
Some of the activities on hand will be a petting zoo, a variety of livestock, ag safety displays, games, and greenhouse tours by appointment. There will also be a large display of farm equipment from dealerships in the area.
Contests held throughout the day include guessing the price of the machinery and the weight of animals and a hay throwing contest.
Registered teams will judge livestock at 10 a.m. There will also be numerous relays, quizzes, and games throughout the day.
Ag Club members will have hamburgers, pork-burgers and hot dogs with baked beans, chips, and a drink available for purchase. There will also be cheese sticks, yogurt, and milk for sale from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., as a fundraiser for Ag Club activities in the upcoming year.
The Ag Club invites the public to attend this free event as they support the future of agriculture and celebrate Dordt College’s growing agricultural program.
