Mangalwadi to speak at Dordt College

Several opportunities to hear Dr. Vishal Mangalwadi speak will be offered at Dordt College Nov. 1-3.

Dr. Mangalwadi is the keynote speaker at the third annual Reformation Conference, co-sponsored by the Siouxland Reformation Society and KDCR-FM 88.5 radio station. “Must the Sun Set on the West? An Indian Explores the Soul of Western Civilization” will examine the intellectual and spiritual secrets of the modern world, the role the Bible has played in the development of the modern world, and how the Bible can renew the West.

The conference begins Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in Dordt College’s Science Building Lecture Hall S101, and resumes Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon. The public is cordially invited, and a freewill offering will be received for expenses.

Dr. Mangalwadi will also speak at Dordt College’s chapel on Thursday morning, Nov. 1, at 10:50 a.m. Dordt College’s co-curricular committee is sponsoring additional talks on campus to psychology and theology classes, and on Friday at 8 a.m., Mangalwadi will be featured on KDCR’s "Conversations" with Dr. Carl E. Zylstra.

Dr. Mangalwadi was born in India (1949) and studied philosophy in secular universities, Hindu Ashrams and with late Dr. Francis Schaeffer in L'abri Fellowship in Switzerland. Together with his wife Ruth he started a ministry to serve the poor and the untouchables in India. He has authored or co-authored 13 books and lectured in 30 countries. Currently Vishal and Ruth are in the United States to make a television documentary series on the Bible as “The Soul of Western Civilization.”
