Christian Psychology topic of April 11 lecture

“The Promise and Peril of a Christian Psychology” will be the topic of guest lecturer Dr. Eric Johnson at Dordt College on Wednesday, April 11, 7:30 p.m., in the science building lecture hall SB101. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Johnson is a national leader in a movement which is trying to go beyond the “integration” model of merging psychology with Christianity toward a more transformational principle for establishing a Christian psychology. He is a prolific author in the area of Christian psychology and a co-founder and director of the Society for Christian Psychology. Johnson is also associate professor of pastoral theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Johnson will also speak to Dordt psychology classes on Thursday and Friday. Johnson has authored or edited several articles and books used in psychology and philosophy courses at Dordt College.
