Fall Music Festival October 20

The Dordt College Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band, Campus-Community Band, Chorale, Concert Choir, Women’s Chorus and Kantorei will all participate in a Fall Music Festival Friday, Oct. 20, 7:30 p.m. at the B. J. Haan Auditorium.
Conducting the Campus-Community Band, Chamber Orchestra and Concert Band will be Dr. Henry Duitman.
The Campus-Community Band will be performing “Prelude from 49th Parallel” by Ralph Vaughan Williams and “Parade of the Wooden Warriors” by Adam Gorb. The Chamber Orchestra will be performing “Nigerian Dance No. 1” by Akpabot as well as “Liebesleid” by Kriesler. The Concert Band will be performing works by Jan Van Der Roost, Haydn, and “Chorale and Shaker Dance” by John Zdechlik.
Conducting the Concert Choir, Chorale and Kantorei will be Dr. Benjamin Kornelis.
Conducting the Women’s Chorus will be Pam De Haan. They will present “Music Down in my Soul” an African-American spiritual with soloist Jana Krygsman, as well as a beautiful song of farewell from the opera “Andrea Chenier.”
The fall music festival is free and open to the public. A freewill offering for music scholarships at Dordt College will be received.
