Guest organ recital Feb. 17

Guest organist Dr. Rudolf Zuiderveld will present a concert at Dordt College’s B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m.

Zuiderveld is professor of music and an organist at both Illinois College and the First Presbyterian Church, Springfield, Ill. He has an Artium Baccalaureus degree from Calvin College (Michigan), a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa.

Zuiderveld has taught music at Dordt College, Southwest State University (Minnesota) and Illinois College ( Jacksonville). In addition to recitals at colleges, universities and churches in the U.S., Dr. Zuiderveld has performed for and spoken to conventions of the Organ Historical Society and the Hymn Society of America. In recent years he has studied and performed music by Dutch composers, some of which will be presented on the evening’s program.

This organ recital is free and the public is welcome to attend.
