Schuller vocal recital Jan. 27

A junior vocal recital will be presented by Kelsi Schuller, Ripon, CA, on Friday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

Schuller is a music/vocal performance major who was a semi-finalist at a National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) student adjudication, and a finalist at the Lewis and Clark Chapter NATS student adjudication. She performs in the Dordt College Concert Choir and Kantorei and also participated in last fall’s musical production, Into the Woods.

Also participating in the recital will be mezzo-soprano Kelly Hanenburg, South Holland, IL; organist Alicia Mulder, Waupun, WI; and pianist Marlys Grimm, Sioux Center.

Schuller will present a set of songs from “La Bohème” and “Gianni Schicchi” by Puccini, as well as a set of sacred songs including titles by Michael Head and “Re Jesu” by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Several 20th century songs will round out the program.

Schuller is the daughter of James and Vivian Schuller. She is currently under the private instruction of Mrs. Pam De Haan, Dordt College music adjunct.

The public is invited to attend this free recital.
